My Crazy (non)Schedule -- And Why It Exists
I've been trying to get my life a bit more organized, but I'm having a teensy-weensy little problem with this, and I'd like to share some of my thoughts about this.
Let's start with this website.
I began building this website back in 2015 when I thought that I was finally set up with home Internet service again.
However this became dicey for a number of reasons.
First off, I was using a family and friends connection instead of cable, as I was living in Muncie at the time and getting ready to move back to Anderson in a few months, so I didn't want to complicate my life by signing up for cable for a longterm basis -- as if I could even afford to.
I was using a used laptop that was given to me as a gift by my cousins who had gone on to something better and wanted me to have Internet access from home, though they weren't sure just how long it would be good for.
If I remember correctly, it lasted me about three months at the most, but it was good while it lasted.
As it was winter by that time, I was without any sort of Internet service as the risk of finding it to be slick underfoot even kept me away from the library.
Anyway, I was then able to get the Internet from my apartment again when my goddaughter gathered up some used computer equipment -- some of her own and some from the amazing Smurf (You'll find him mentioned here and there in my writings) -- and, between her and a neat lady named Annette (a friend of a friend), got me re-connected.
This lasted until my goddaughter's friends and family plan changed to where she could no longer afford it.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up moving into my current apartment on November 17, 2016 -- which also happened to be Smurf's 59th birthday. I had actually moved out of my Muncie apartment on the 101st anniversary of Aunt Ruby's birth the evening before.
Shortly after that, another friend (Don) who had been storing the equipment for me brought it to my apartment.
On my 64th birthday, I was, once more, connected to the Internet at home and began to play some serious catch-up.
However, all of the things involved with the moving -- combined with an unexpected case of the flu (along with its recurrence and aftermath) -- slowed me down quite a bit.
Long story short: Due to dealing with several things at once, I'm not quite to the point that I'd hoped to be to by now, but I'm getting there.
Anyway my crazy (non) schedule exists because (DUH?) I'm a writer.
Not all writers have a crazy (non) schedule -- in fact, some have just the opposite -- however, this seems to be a pretty commonplace thing among writers and other people in various branches of the creative arts.
This has been intensified due to the various other things going on.
Here on the first day of the month that contains the last part of winter and the first part of spring, I'm starting to turn the corner a bit -- which means that you'll begin to find more new things more often at this and other places where I travel in Cyberspace as well as those who know me in real life will start to see changes for the better, so, be watching me in the time ahead, as I have the feeling that a lot of great things will be happening during the month of March as well as for the entire year of 2018.
After that? God only knows...
That's all for now...
